The Malbec of Las Compuertas
Las Compuertas is one of the highest and oldest areas of Luján de Cuyo — among the first terroirs ever planted in Mendoza. Malbec here is nothing like Malbec from the lowlands. Altitude, the sharp day-to-night temperature swing and the snowmelt water running down from the Cordón del Plata produce slow-ripening grapes with thick skins.
That combination gives the region its signature profile: a Malbec that is floral, spiced, with fine tannins and lively acidity, built to age in bottle. The alluvial soils of round river stone — shaped over centuries by running water — drain fast and force the vine to work, concentrating aroma and colour.
The wine lines of Finca Bandini
Each line comes from a different part of the estate — and from a different idea of what wine should be.
Los Muros — single-parcel wines
The most precise line: wines born from specific parcels of the vineyard, beside the historic 1922 stone walls that give them their name. Includes age-worthy reds and whites of mineral character.
Magno Corpore
The line that runs through the estate's varieties: Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Wines with body, made for the table and for medium-term ageing.
Dos Cauces
Named after the two channels of pure snowmelt water that bring the land to life. A fresher, more approachable line, faithful to the character of the place.
Aurum — sparkling wines
The celebratory side of the house: sparkling wines made with the same obsession for detail, including an Extra Brut Malbec.
Come and taste them
All of these wines are tasted at the estate, in Las Compuertas, with a tour through the vineyards and lunch among the vines. The only real way to know them is where they are born.
